The final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom is here. It showcased a lot of information and gameplay, which has led to both excitement and speculation. We’ve broken down everything we noticed in the new trailer below for Tears of the Kingdom.

Everything shown in the third trailer for The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

    Death and Ganondorf

While Tears of the Kingdom’s villain is unconfirmed, it’s almost guaranteed that there will be a dual combination of Ganondorf and Demise. Ganondorf was teased from the start, but we get a full view of the iconic villain in this trailer. Ganondorf seems to have his back to his usual appearance; something fans wanted from Breath of the Wild.

In addition to Ganondorf, we’re given a background image of another evil entity that we’re convinced is Demise. This figure resembles the Demise design, updated to the Tears of the Kingdom style. Demise serves as Ganondorf’s source of power, being the embodiment of this character’s power, so it stands to reason that Demise would return.

    New race/characters

The world of Zelda is made up of numerous races, but it looks like we have a new race for Tears of the Kingdom. We got glimpses of various characters that seemed new to the world and might have something to do with Zonai or Sky Islands. We also get some Twilight Princess vibes from the design and music, which could be a coincidence.

One theory is that the character below could be the incarnation of Hylia. Another could be that she is the Hilda version of Zelda for Tears of the Kingdom. She closely resembles Zelda and appears to be using a similar power. This could be a coincidence, but we are sure that she will play a big role in Tears of the Kingdom.

    return of champions

The Champions are back! We see Sidon, Yunobo, Riju, and what appears to be Tulin, Teba’s son, helping Link throughout the trailer. It’s funny why Teba didn’t show up, but maybe Tulin is trying to prove himself to him. We see the champions fighting alongside Link and we even see Riju using Urbosa’s lightning powers. Hopefully, champions will play a bigger role in Tears of the Kingdom.

    Companions

In addition to the champions helping Link in battle, we see what appear to be regular Hylians and Geruda helping out as well. This could be something carried over from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but it’s great to see Link finally getting some help. Whether this can be commanded or only appears in scripted battles remains to be seen.

    extended combat

Combat seems to have been expanded and improved in Tears of the Kingdom. Only Fuse adds a lot of new creations, but other new additions can be seen in this trailer. One that we’re personally very excited about shows Link fighting a Construct while riding in a mining wagon, Donkey Kong style. We also saw Hylians and champions fighting alongside Link.

Vehicle combat appears to be in Tears of the Kingdom, as Link battles a mobile Bokoblin platform from his own battle tower. New weapons and tools can be seen, including a laser turret that activates when Link shoots at it. Link can use his abilities to parry enemy attacks and return them, which is amazing. We also see enemies fighting each other instead of Link.

    new habilities

Link has a lot of new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, but we see even more in this trailer. Link can jump onto the water bubbles to move to new platforms, and there seems to be more platforming elements as well.

    new vehicles

Fusion is one of the main new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, allowing Link to build new vehicles. We’ve seen a few, but Nintendo has shown off what may be Link’s greatest creation in a moving attack tower. This appears to be used in vehicle-to-vehicle combat against the enemies of Hyrule.

We also see a rocket booster, but it’s unclear if Link can or must find it using Fuse. We also see a massive spaceship, but we don’t know if Link can pilot it or if it belongs to his enemies. Finally, we also see Link put together a horse-drawn wagon to transport Hylians. Again, it’s also unclear if this is scripted or a new vehicle that he can create at will.

    amber relics

Amber Relics were a resource in Skyward Sword and were used to upgrade Link’s equipment. We see them return in Tears of the Kingdom, but we don’t know their purpose yet. Zelda is seen holding one of hers, but we think we saw one on the sleeve of the mysterious figure of her talking to her.

    Epona’s Return

Epona, Link’s trusted steed and the greatest horse in the world, returns triumphantly in Tears of the Kingdom! While he was almost certain Epona would return, he stands out in this trailer. We don’t know if you need the amiibo to get her like in Breath of the Wild, but hopefully she will be available to all players in the game.

    new locations

We saw several new locations in this trailer, both civilized and natural. The highlight is the new village which sports a strong mushroom theme. We also see what looks like a war camp, supporting the companions that help Link in battle.

The new environments include more mechanics, including floating orbs that Link seems to be able to enter. These have gears that Link can turn and a laser tunnel that he has to navigate. This also showed a new flight suit that Link can use. We also see what appears to be an interior of Death Mountain based on the lava and Link’s suit and the interior of Hyrule Castle.

    new enemies

We also saw several new enemies introduced in this trailer. This included a new type of Octorok that can fire explosive projectiles and an enemy that can turn into a ball and push Link down while he is on fire. A new Talus was seen acting as a mobile platform for the Bokoblins in vehicular combat.

Some notable enemies including a giant three-headed hydra dragon and a huge snake monster. We also saw a mechanical looking golem coming out of a wall, but it’s unclear if this is an enemy at this point.
