Don’t always default to killing minions in lane, fight for neutral objectives (fangtooth, orb prime, jng camp), and play as a team.
More in depth about the actual team fights that I think most players struggle with are:
- Learn your character positioning. If you’re a tanky frontliner, don’t be afraid to sit behind Gideon and Sparrow. Go out and protect them, bait engagements, go in yourself, or something else but just stand back. The same goes for my squishy friends.
- Goes with #1 looking at the map and knowing where your teammates are. Yeah there’s a lot going on, but nothing saddens me more than dying in a team fight that we could have won if my team walked into the fight 10 feet away from me. Position yourself, and understand where you and your teammates are at all times.
Good positioning is everything in MOBAs.
Bonus tip: Try and hit lvl 2 faster than your opponent in lane at the start of the match and go for a heavy trade before they can hit lvl 2. Most laners aren’t ready to be aggressive and most heroes can trade at early levels. If you are able to hit lvl 2 fast enough and push their wave to their lvl 2 delay you will have a great laning phase.
