Holiday cookies are an important part of any old school RuneScape event and the fact that they are still available in 2022 is part of why OSRS is still so special. During the OSRS 2022 Christmas event, you can win two Christmas cookies and many other prizes. Here is the list of events and how you can beat the minigames.
OSRS Christmas Events
There are four components to the 2022 Christmas events: the Festive Games, the Coal Walk, the Gingerbread Factory, and the Snowball Massacre.
the festive games
Start the Christmas event by going to the snowy area west of Barbarian Town. You should see a line of people waiting to get into The Nutcracker and Guss Mistletoad should be at the end of the line. He tells you that he really wants to get into The Nutcracker, but that he’s bad enough to win the games that are required to get in. If he agrees to help you win the games, the event will start.

Head over to Santa who is hanging out in the Christmas Portal so that you and Guss can receive game times. Both will have different playing times. Talk to Guss before going back to Santa, who will ask you a riddle. You should be given access to the portal no matter what you answer. Make sure he doesn’t have anything in his cloak slot and that all eight of his inventory slots are open as well.
pass the coal
The first game in the lineup is called Pass the Coal. Talk to Santa’s scribe to get started. You’ll need to collect chunks of coal and give them to other players to get their status bar above 100. Make sure your status bar stays below 100, or you’ll be eliminated too. Once you win, Santa’s scribe will give you another riddle. The answer to this is Snowman.
gingerbread factory
Go to the big house to the northeast of where you are currently and talk to the gnome inspector. You need to pick up the gingerbread gnomes from the ground and put them in the gingerbread hopper. The other two players will try to sabotage you so kick MerryMax2000 when he tells you that he has all the baddies for you and don’t carry a bunch of gingerbread at once because WhoLouCindy57 will try to steal them for you. The first person to get 250 points wins, but will lose points for adding crushed gingerbread to the hopper.
The gnome will give you a riddle when you win. The answer to this is Candle.
snowball massacre
Head north after exiting the factory and talk to the snowball champion. Guss will appear and explain the latest game to you. To win, you’ll need to collect snowballs and throw them at the other contestants until their health bars reach zero. Average snowballs do 10 damage, but gold snowballs do 50 damage (just try not to think about why they’re gold).

Continue playing until it’s just you and Guss, which is when you’ll enter Sudden Death. During this round, both contestants will throw a snowball at the same time. Whoever gets hit loses. You can choose to dodge or let the snowball hit you.
No matter what you choose to do, after the games you find out that the winners get to bring one more to the Nutcracker pub. Talk to Guss once you’re both in the club to complete the event.
Christmas event rewards
Completing the Christmas event will give you:
- Santa’s list
- sack of coal
- Jumper and festive glasses
- Festive Games Wreath
- nutcracker costume
- Two sets of party hats
- two santa claus hats
- two christmas cookies
