As an attempt to limit its vision in the industry, Wizards of the Coast has canceled at least five games. At least 15 people are expected to lose their jobs at the company, although they will probably be able to post new jobs.

According to a report from Bloomberg, developers Otherside and Hidden Path Entertainment are expected to hit the hardest by the reshuffle as both companies appear to work on Wizards of the Coast. In a statement in which the Wizards of the Coast said that they remain committed to using digital games, explaining that the cancellations were made to focus on games that are strategically aligned with our existing brands.

The Wizards of the Coast is trying to break into the gaming industry for a while, although it still hasn’t managed to create a breakthrough game. Dungeons andamp; Dragons: Dark Alliance released in 2021, was the most recent release, but didn’t go for surprise reviews from fans and critics alike. The company hasn’t yet released the games, although two titles are Dungeons & Dragons Baldurs Gate and an unnamed AAA game from the developer Dark Alliance.

The news comes amid a difficult financial week for Hasbro, Magic: The Gatherings citing a chaotic release schedule in which the company’s shares fell back in November. Whether this has caused the company to keep cutting its ambitions in the videogame industry, but it’s a shocking sign for a company currently struggling.
