So, the XDefiant servers just went live to start their preseason, and yet no one seems to be able to play a game. Many of us at PGG are currently facing several different errors. Some see that there are no players online, while others are in queue waiting to be placed in a game.
How to Fix Unable to Join Game in XDefiant
There’s a really simple answer here, but if you loaded the game before the servers were up, you’ll need to close and restart the game. Be sure to close the app completely on PlayStation and Xbox, as you’ll need to reestablish a connection to Ubisoft’s servers to access populated lobbies and start playing the shooter.
If this still doesn’t work, it’s best to wait about five more minutes and try again. There’s a good chance that the servers will be overwhelmed with traffic and you’ll have to wait your turn to enter a game. Some of us on the PGG team have finally been placed in a game, but we’re also seeing reports from other players on our sister sites facing the same issue.
Some players still report that they barely see any players occupying the servers. If the servers don’t think any players are online, well, that would explain why you can’t find a match. In this Reddit thread, players also note that they were able to get into a game within minutes of its release and then haven’t been able to find any games since. This suggests that there might actually be an issue on the server side, and we’ll have to wait until Ubisoft has fixed the issue or the spike in traffic has calmed down.
