Like the MOBA, Pokémon Unite’s World Championship esports series continues with a major qualifier event in India. The Pokémon UNITE World Championship 2024 India qualifier will decide which country’s team will compete in the finals in Honolulu, Hawaii, where the best players from around the world will compete for a prize pool of half a million dollars.
The United World Championship has already seen European and North American Grand Finals.
But there is also nothing in the prize money for the India qualifiers, with $37,500 for competing teams. An open-for-all qualifier will allow players to form their teams and compete until May 9. Meanwhile, the qualifiers will compete on May 11 and 12 to decide the top spot, and which team will represent India in the final.
India’s previous representatives in the 2022 and 2023 series include Revenant Esports and S8UL Esports.

The success of the Pokémon Unite World Championship Series is certainly not to be underestimated. Especially when other big companies like Riot Games are also actively moving on mobile esports with big hits like League of Legends: Wild Rift. This isn’t unexpected, of course, as Pokemon also eclipses this franchise in terms of overall popularity.
Also, this is a further indication of how popular esports is becoming in India.
