In one of the last chapters of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Senua, Astrior, Fargrimr and Thorgestr will have to cross the forest of Jarnvior. At some point, Senua will apparently have to choose between Astrior or Fargrimr, but the consequences of that choice are unclear. The good news is that it’s really no big deal, so you can choose whoever you want.

Jarnvior Forest Choice in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Explained
As noted above, there is no right or wrong choice you can make here. There are no major consequences for choosing to save Astrior or Fargrimr here. In my game, I went with Astrior, who was happy when he saw Senua and noted that he didn’t think he would see her again.
Shortly after this, Senua points out that they need to find Fargrim, who you can literally see across the lake. You can’t turn around and go the other route across the river to see it, but if you continue down the path you met Astrior on, Fargimr will be waiting for you where the two paths meet.
To be honest, it’s a bit of an odd choice, as there’s apparently no impact on the gameplay of who you choose. My interpretation of this is that Senua’s psychosis and the forest play tricks on her, making the choice seem like a bigger problem than it really is and, in turn, putting that concern on us as players.
However, rest assured that you can choose any character you want and know that nothing bad will happen to you if you don’t choose to regroup immediately.
