PlayStation will no longer require Helldivers 2 players to link their Steam accounts to PlayStation Network accounts following widespread backlash from the game’s community. This follows days of uproar among players, which resulted in Helldivers 2 being dropped from a “mostly positive” rated game on Steam. “Mixed” for all reviews and “Mostly negative” for recent reviews.. Following the news, Pilestedt took to X to thank PlayStation for the change, noting how impressed he was with the Helldivers 2 community.

With this change not moving forward, the Helldivers 2 community can hopefully get back to killing bugs and automatons in the name of democracy, which doesn’t require linked accounts or revisionist bombardment.

Developer Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced that Helldivers 2 on Steam will soon require a PlayStation Network account to play. Starting May 30th, all new players will have to link their Steam account to a PSN account, and all existing players will have until June 4th to do so.
Until then, Helldivers 2 on PC didn’t require a PSN account to play via Steam, and with the sudden switch-up, players have flocked to the game. Steam reviews To express your frustration.
