Move over Resident Evil! Clear the way to Silent Hill! There’s a new horror game in town, combining scares and snoots into an adorable dog-centric cooperative horror game.
haunted paws, developed by indie studio Lazy Flock, sees you and a friend slap each other’s necks and head to a haunted mansion to rescue your human best friend. If this isn’t the cutest premise for a game in 2024, to be completely honest, I don’t know what is.
We don’t know much about the game yet, but account X (formerly known as Twitter) has shared some data. Every sinister creature the dynamic doggo duo encounters on their adventure hides a troubled past. These form the crux of the game, as players must solve the mysteries surrounding them and ultimately defeat them to rescue their human friend. Oh, and you’ll also be able to do normal doggo things like dig, sniff, bark, and most importantly, have a zoom moment.
You’ll be able to choose from several of the most popular dog breeds to play with and even give them a stylish hat. I, my friends, am sold.
The game has received a lot of attention after a tiktok viral. More than 55,000 people have liked TikTok with 402 comments, many of which are asking the developer to bring the game to consoles for cozy couch co-op action.
Lazy Flock is currently working on getting the game’s Steam page and announcement trailer ready for June 4. A release date for the game has not yet been announced, nor have other platforms been confirmed at this time. Luckily, it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer for more information.
