It is not known when this option appeared in the Adobe Creative Cloud Profiles, but the incident became public after this informed Twitter account of the community of Krita, a free image editor. That option is supposedly enabled by default for all users of the platform, which allows Adobe to use images, audio, video, text files, documents and so on, as well as related data to analysis, according to the company’s website.

The developer explains how user content is created and used to develop machines that is necessary to improve existing and new products. Various categories of user-generated content, those that employees or partners can view individually, mainly public information (including posts on Adobe Stock and Behance) and beta-related products in case of user participation in relevant programs.

The company said that the corresponding option in the account settings can be disabled, thus preventing it from accessing user materials. However, the setting does not apply to school or organisation accounts, and the option to turn it off does not affect other Creative Cloud and Document Cloud features.
