The wrestling world has been buzzing for the past few days after a shock announcement made by Dragon Lee last week. Since he won the AAA World Tag Team Championships with his brother Dralistico after they defeated FTR at AAA Lucha Libre: Noche de Campeones, Lee announced he’d signed a contract with WWE and planned to use the NXT brand this month.

Dave Meltzer discussed the surprising move on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying: “I would like to have said that I was expecting the good”

The deal has been made several weeks ago but they have been told they should stay quiet. They wanted to make the announcement after they won the tag team titles. It’s very interesting that he pinned the AEW star on his knee. That was part of the deal. I mean, Tony Khan was aware of it. Im certain that in case the situation was reversed, that would never have happened.

Lee wished to work in Japan’s wrestling promotion, NJPW. However, after he went to rehab from CMLL back in 2019, he couldn’t have a solution but to continue wrestling in Mexico.

Him and Dralistico had a great deal of effort with WWE. They wanted her. AEW also wanted her. It’s a bigger money deal than Mexico, but it’s not something that is big money. He’s getting NXT money, and he’s not getting his main roster money.

A little more money…so he could make a little more money [in AEW] and probably less money, or he could go to NXT. He’s an exceptionally talented man. He could be a focal point over there.

In NXT is probably the best place for him right now if he can wrestle, push and things like that; it’s the place that he chose, then for him to move himself around the world.

Ultimately, AEW have to just blame for not getting Lee’s signature.

WWEs interest in Dragon Lee came when they discovered that AEW put this guy on television without contract. Obviously, let’s take a plunge and watch out! That was the catalyst for it; they noticed that AEW had put a guy on TV without a deal.

An unbelievable athlete who has achieved accolades and won championships around the world and is getting started.

Congratulations, brother, @dwsk. I am very proud of you, you’re going to get where you want to go because you have everything and your deserve.

Go for Go and go for Go at Gow, 2022.

No matter how difficult the deal was to get out of the way, several people, including his brother Rush and the chief content officer, Triple H, quickly congratulated him on the move. WWE fans will be interested to watch the Mexican wrestler make his debut in the ring, too.
