Many of the faces you’ll see at Hogwarts Legacy will be new to you, even if you’re a long-time Harry Potter fan. That’s because the story takes place about a hundred years before the time of the titular book series. While the story will generally align with the Hogwarts story as we know it from the books, some characters were created specifically for this game. One of those characters is George Osric. This is what you need to know about him.
George Osric, Ministry of Magic official at Hogwarts Legacy
George Osric is a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic with ties to Hogwarts, particularly Professor Fig and his wife, Miriam. Miriam had discovered a perplexing riddle just before she passed away and enlisted George’s help in solving it. He has an affinity for puzzles, but he still needs more help solving them. George will contact you for help. He has not appeared in any previous Harry Potter works.

Since he is a member of the Ministry of Magic, George may relate to your adventures at Hogwarts in other ways. We know the Wizard’s Field Guide will guide you as he explores the school and its grounds. We also know that he was specifically given to you by the Ministry of Magic, to help you catch up with other students. This is because you enter Hogwarts as a fifth year student instead of a first year. It is possible that you will receive your guide from this character.
