In V Rising, establishing yourself as a vampire ruler requires a lot of work, effort, and dark magic. But even to begin with all that, every ruler must have had a castle since… Well, ruling, since. The location of your castle makes the difference between an easy conquest and an arduous fight. Don’t worry though, here’s a quick recommendation on where to build your first castle in V Rising.
The best place to build your first castle in V Rising
A first castle is best located in Farbane Woods, the first region of the game. The specific location you really want to set up at should be near at least one or two of the game’s unique V Blood bosses.
Why are V Blood bosses important?
Starting in Act 1, you will spend most of your time in the Farbane Woods, based in the southern tip of Vardoran. In addition to housing relatively low-level enemies, Farbane is also home to some of the first bosses that the main questline requires you to kill. All the necessary information, such as who they are, where they are, and how they fight, is provided in the Blood Menu V. You can also use this menu to track directly your location, simply by selecting your preferred target in this menu.
The last bit about the bosses is very important here, as killing them will unlock new powers and crafting options throughout the game. And if that wasn’t enough, each boss is located in a base packed with crafting resources! For all that, the best location for your first castle should have easy access to all of these access points.
Where are the first bosses in Farbane?
The following image shows an overview map of Farbane Woods, marking the three locations of the first three V Blood Bosses:
1. Bandit Copper Mine
2. Bandit Logging Camp
3. Bandit Trapper Camp
He Red Star The best recommended location for a first castle is marked on the map. Being right above the logging camp, You will be right between the three areas.. Having easy access to them will make progression in your first castle much, much easier. Believe me, I was quick to set up in the southeast corner of the map in that screenshot, you better go to the red star.
As with any survival RPG, setting up your base of operations is essential to success in V Rising. Or, at the very least, make things much easier to solve. While you don’t have to follow the exact location chosen in this guide, you should keep in mind where you decide to start your vampire rule and how far you want to be from places of interest.
