The scale-enhancing 500Hz monitors are a matter of time. My body is finished

Even though they first became aware on Computex that it was not until 2022, it is thought that these 500Hz monitors actually are the thing at CES 2023. I’m an absolute supporter of my self-confirmed sweaty trieshard.

Competitive esports gamers like faster GPU frame rates and faster monitor refresh rates because recharging those up can improve responsiveness. (There is reason that esports pros dial their graphics settings back to Low even if it’s ugly). Until now, competitive monitors exploded for almost 360 Hz. That is a truly enjoyable experience. But after the CES 2023, the Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP and the aptly named Alienware 500Hz Gaming Monitor (AW2524H) finally broke the 500Hz barrier. More importantly, these 24.5-inch 1080p displays include Nvidias fantastic G-Sync and Reflex technology for a much higher level of smoothness. Yes.

Some people swear that you can’t feel a difference more than 60Hz, but it isn’t true. In the past I had the chance to speak with Nvidias esports and display engineers about the subject. They explained that to feel a monitor upgrade, it needs to double the refresh rate. That’s why extending from 60Hz to 120Hz displays makes esports better, while switching from 120Hz to 144Hz still feels good. The 360Hz gaming monitor felt that it was as simple as a blob as it was. Like the incredibly cool, deliciously smooth process.

However, the most expensive monitors without drool will not be good for me because 500Hz can only increase the number of times on top of 360Hz, but it doesn’t cause much interference in the majority of gamers. If you play on a 144 or even 240Hz display, and want to unlock a new mind-blowing level of clarity, these free 500Hz G-Sync monitors should perfectly do the trick.

If you’re willing to blow outrageous amounts of money on the monitor and roll people’s calling for duty, that would be a possibility. Alienware hasn’t announced pricing yet, but Asus told the Verge that the ROG Swift Pro PG24QP should cost 900. This spring the Alienware is going to launch while the ROG display is coming on.
