While there may always be some subjectivity for ranking the heroes in Overwatch 2, the community has done their best to determine which are best by combining a number of overwatch 2, content creators individual tier lists into an aggregate.
As soon as the individual rankings are compiled by eight influential content creators – Emongg, Freedo and KarQ – a spreadsheet was created for the entire season 2.1 list of heros in Overwatch 2. The results clearly show that Kiriko is at the top of the meta, followed by Roadhog and Orisa, and Brigitte is at the bottom of the list. Other high-tier heroes include Hammond, Sombra and the new Junker Queen.
This list had the purpose of making it easier to know which heroes need to be racked to be good a buff. The responses to this list aren’t surprising. Most members of the Overwatch 2 community fully understand how poor the low class heroes are, especially Brigitte and Sombra.
As for Blizzard’s buffing and nerfing heroes, it’s very often a case of this tier list. Brigette, for example, might be the worst hero in the game, but to be the best one at one time. We know, however, that Blizzard intends to nudge the current second best pick Roadhog and turn up Junker Queen, which will easily shake the rankings.
The move to a 5-v5 format played a key role as a symbol of importance in the way heroes were valued and ranked. As Blizzard continues adding new heroes and rework existing ones, lists like these will always evolve. With overwatch 2 beginning in December on December 6th, season 2 will begin at 9 o’clock and there’ll not be any announced date for the end but balance changes can be applied either immediately or at any time.
