Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is, by definition, a morally gray area, and while the game frequently offers me options, I never felt like I was doing the right thing. During the mission I Walk The Line, the story culminated with the choice of siding with the Voodoo Boys or the NetWatch agent. With V’s life on the line, I felt the pressure to make the smart decision, but neither option seemed easy. If you have the same dilemma as me, this guide will help you.
Should I choose a NetWatch agent or side with the Voodoo Boys in Cyberpunk 2077?
During the crucial moment of the I Walk The Line mission in Cyberpunk 2077, NetWatch Agent will offer a compromise. He will ask you to let him walk away freely and in exchange, he will remove the voodoo virus from your system and free Brigitte and Ti Neptune.

What happens if you side with the NetWatch agent in Cyberpunk 2077?
If you choose to accept the NetWatch agent’s offer in Cyberpunk 2077, it will upload a kill code to the data fragment and deliver it to you. As you leave the room, you will receive a call from Placide, who suspects something is going on and will ask you what happened. You will tell him that you should talk to Brigitte. Go out and meet up with his Voodoo Boys, and they’ll take you to Placide at Batty’s hotel. Once inside, you will have a brief and very unpleasant conversation with Placide, which is interrupted by Mama B. She will give the orders to take the others to the crypt.
After that, you will wake up in an ice bath and realize that all the Voodoo Boys racers are dead. This will immediately make the gang hostile towards you. You must leave the crypt fighting Placide. Once you take him down, loot a key from his body and exit the building.
The NetWatch agent will hold up its end of the deal by removing malware from your system. Blackwall will remain safe, but from now on you will be at war with the Voodoo Boys. Personally, I made this decision because I didn’t want to have to deal with Voodoo Boys or malware.

What happens if you choose the Vodoo Boys in Cyberpunk 2077?
If you choose to stick to the original plan and stay with the Voodoo Boys after approaching the NetWatch Agent’s offer in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll knock the Agent to the ground and drive a hard link into his head. But something goes wrong and suddenly you feel a wave that knocks you out. Once you wake up, Jonny will claim that the Agent was right and that the Voodoo Boys used the access you gave them to fry all the agents, and you’ll get a surprise in the process.
Once you leave the building, the Voodoo Boys outside will offer to take you to Placide, who will be surprised to see you alive. Fight him before Brigitte arrives to separate you and send the runners to the crypt. Brigitte will approach you once you wake up and get out of the ice bath. She will get two options:
- Exit the crypt peaceably.
- Struggle your exit.
Leaving finishes this mission faster, but choosing to fight your way out will net you more loot, EXP, and most importantly, some sweet revenge. In my second playthrough, I chose to fight the Voodoo Boys on the way out, and while Placide wasn’t a pushover, he was worth it for his legendary time-worn trench coat.
