It looks like console-level gaming is officially possible on Apple phones, with the confirmation that the Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and even Assassin’s Creed Mirage are confirmed for the iPhone 15 Pro.
Announced as two models, the base iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max look to take mobile gaming up to the next level, with what might now be the biggest selling point for many being able to play massive hit titles on their everyday devices.
How can iPhone 15 Pro run Resident Evil Village & RE4 Remake?
Unveiled at Apple’s September 12 Wonderlust Event, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max being able to run games like Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake is possible with the power of the new A17 Pro chip. As elaborated on the 15 Pro’s announcement post, the A17 Pro chip makes the latest iPhone capable of utilising hardware-accelerated ray tracing for games – four times faster than the normally used software tracing.
As a result, the iPhone 15 Pro is also capable of delivering far smoother graphics – for “more immersive AR applications and gaming experiences” which Apple says as a whole will bring “true-to-life gaming to the palm of user’s hands with console titles never before seen on a smartphone, like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage“.
Triple-A gaming in the palm of your hand isn’t where the benefits of the A17 Pro chip for iPhone 15 Pro end either. The chip’s included AV1 decoder will also enable higher quality and more efficient video streaming capabilities as well – with supported video output and transfer speeds up to 4K resolution and 60FPS HDR, thanks to the new USB controller.
What is the iPhone 15 Pro price and storage?
According to Apple, both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max models will start at the price of $999 and $1199 respectively – available in the colours black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium finishes. As for iPhone 15 Pro storage, each model will have 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacity options.
That’s everything you need to know about how the iPhone 15 Pro can play console-level games like the RE4 remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
