Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was recently revealed via a limited-time mode in Warzone. The developers have also released a blog post that briefly mentions what to expect from the upcoming 2023 game. If you’re a Call of Duty veteran like me, you’ll definitely like what Sledgehammer Games has to offer with this year’s multiplayer.

OG MW2 Maps at Launch and the Return of War Mode

At the game’s launch on November 10, Modern Warfare 3 will have 16 core maps for 6v6, all from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Here are all the remastered maps we’ll get to play on: Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Karachi, Highrise, Invasion, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass, and Wasteland.

Besides these, the game will also receive 12 new maps during the post-launch seasonal updates. Furthermore, the fan-favorite War Mode from WWII (2017) will make a comeback with a large-scale map. Ground War and Invasion will also be there with three battle maps.

Map Voting and Classic Minimap are Back

With the return of Map Voting, players will now be able to vote for the map they want to play the next multiplayer game on. Classic minimap is also coming back. This means that players who fire unsuppressed weapons will show up as red dots on enemies’ minimaps.

Say Goodbye to Slow Pace and Fast TTK

Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer will overall have faster movement and animations, which includes slide cancel, reload cancel, faster mantling, and longer tac sprint duration. Also, the base player health will be increased from 100 to 150 HP, which in turn will significantly lower the time-to-kill (TTK).

    Other mentioned features

MW3 Multiplayer will also have a new Tac-Stance feature that allows you to hold your weapon in a canted firing position. It apparently is a “middle-ground between hip-fire and aiming down sights”. Loadouts will now feature equipment like gloves, tactical vests, and boots that’ll give you added perks. I’m excited to try out these features in the Open Beta due to arrive in the coming months.
