    Monolith, Animation Arts’ new spin on the classic point and click adventure game, is set to make the jump to mobile it has been announced. recently Facebook post Celebrating six months since the game’s release on Steam, the studio behind the sci-fi puzzler said a release for iOS and Android was in the works for the second half of the year.

    Set in the future, you play as Tessa, an explorer working for an intergalactic mining corporation who gets stranded on a distant planet. As you search for a way to escape, you’ll solve puzzles and experience a story that explores both Tess’s background and the mysterious planet she finds herself on.

    With a 3D character on pre-rendered backgrounds and a classic point-and-click style of gameplay, Monolith is a clear throwback to the puzzler era of the late ’90s and mid-2000s. While it only boasts a playtime of 7-9 hours, according to the developers, Monolith looks like it can deliver in that time.

    Monolithic challenges

    Again, we’re always happy to see more games make the jump to mobile and open themselves up to the massive audience the platform boasts. We’re particularly interested in the specific throwback nature of this game, as it’s not often you see ‘retro’ applied to more recent genres like point and clicks. No firm date, or store page, is ready at this time, but given the end of this half of the year we assume it will arrive in late 2024.
