When it comes to Lords of the Fallen, I’ve died my fair share of times. While I’d like to blame it on poor PC performance, my skills aren’t what they used to be and have killed me most of the time. Fortunately, the developer is committed to updating Lords of the Fallen and including patch notes to show the changes. Continue reading below to find all the Lords of the Fallen patch notes.

All Lords of the Fallen Patch Notes: 1.1.191 – October 14, 2023

    All platforms:

    Balance:

    • Bringers of Stillness and Scarlet Shadows have had the damage output of their two gap-closing attacks reduced so that they are not as punishing when attacking from their own shadow.
    • The charred spirits in the lower city have had their damage nerfed slightly, from 80 to 64 to compensate for the fact that they are the most aggressive “walking corpse” type.
    • Reduced the charged attack damage of all “Walking Corpses” from 1.18 to 0.8, as their animations do not adequately reflect the danger of the hit. Its anticipation has been adjusted slightly for better readability.
    • Skein’s task forces now have a tighter hitbox, as we felt it was generating a few frames too early.
    • Echo Barrage (Eyeball Threshold Spell) has received an additional failsafe to ensure that it always explodes when hitting anything in the environment.
    • Adjusted the impact direction of some projectiles that could cause the player to react in an unintended direction. Purely cosmetic.
    • Ruiner has had his fire shield attack and jump knockback attack damage slightly reduced. In return, his standard damage has been slightly improved from 81 to 95. The idea is that players will still fear him, but reduce the number of one-shots in later regions of the game.

    Bosses:

    • The Spurned Progeny has received a small adjustment to ensure that it never interrupts one of its combos, regardless of the player’s actions.
    • The arena for the trio of secret bosses hiding in a secret location has been modified to help them navigate space more efficiently. Also, if they enter the column in shadow form, they now know how to get out. In practice, they are now more dangerous adversaries.

    Images:

    • After optimization, the Pieta chest armor lost some of the dye IDs. This has been fixed so that dyes can be applied correctly.
    • Fixed a nanite mesh in the 3D Gallery background that was animated incorrectly, creating white dot artifacts.

    Performance:

    • The eyeball explosion of a barrage of echoes had a persistent visual effect that could remain active for longer than intended, hindering performance if abused.

    Photo Mode:

    • Photo Mode had a small black line in the bottom right corner. This line no longer exists.

    Audio:

    • Threshold stigmata now have a nicer sound for activation and deactivation.

    PvP:

    • We’ve disabled the ability to parry other players’ kicks to allow an additional option when you find a really good parrier.

    PERSONAL COMPUTER:

We have worked diligently to address some of the issues that have unfortunately affected some of our players.

Rest assured, our commitment to allowing as many people as possible to immerse themselves in our gaming world is what drives our passion. Thanks to data provided to our “Sentry” bug database by players who clicked “submit” on the bug report pop-up. So far, we have been able to identify four main problems:

    1. **Drivers not updated.**Lords of the Fallen runs on UE5, a high-end technology that requires the latest GPU drivers. We have observed that most of the failures are due to outdated drivers. Therefore, from now on, when the game starts, it checks the installed drivers and requests an update if they are not updated, redirecting to the respective GPU vendors: Nvidia or AMD
    2. Frame generation stabilityDespite our efforts to provide players with the latest technologies, Sentry noted that Frame Generation also causes crashes under specific conditions. We have decided to temporarily disable Frame Generation until our collaboration with NVIDIA allows us to offer more stable drivers. This action is intended to prevent the crashes that some players are experiencing with their new 40 series GPUs.
    3. Unidentified GPU faultsPartially fixed an engine bug that could occur with certain 30 and 40 series GPUs, causing the game to crash even with automatically configured graphics. EPIC quickly provided us with a patch that includes additional security mechanisms to prevent these flaws. and has been integrated to resolve most of these bugs. We have also observed that quite a few players enable settings that their computers cannot handle, especially in terms of VRAM. If you are experiencing instability, low frame rates, or even crashes (especially DX12 crashes), simply click “AUTO-SET” within the Graphics Settings, and this will probably solve your problems.
    4. Accident after the first cinematicAn issue was identified in Sentry with the engine code related to the calculation of Pipeline State Objects (PSO). This issue caused crashes when compiling shaders after the game’s first cutscene. EPIC has been quick and efficient in providing a fix, which has now been integrated into the game and should resolve most cases. However, if the issue still persists, we have provided a solution to allow you to access the game. Please note that this fix may cause microfreezes the first time you enter a new area of the game. To disable PSO calculation, follow these steps:a. Right click on the game in your Libraryb. Click Propertiesc. On the General tab, enter the following switch in the Startup Options text box: -nopsos

Please consult our Performance Troubleshooting Steps if you still have problems.

    PS5:

    • There are no platform-specific changes.

    Xbox:

    • We fixed the issue with low LOD loading for Xbox Series X.

    Steam cover:

    • Steamdeck now has a virtual keyboard.
