Following Nintendo’s Indie World game announcements on April 17, we now know that Little Kitty, Big City will release on May 9, 2024. With the game so close to its release date, let’s talk about what we know and where you can play Little. Kitty, great city.

Little Kitty, Big City: the Switch game where you can become a cat

The concern Switch players often have is that some blockbuster indie games aren’t coming to Nintendo Switch. A good example of this is Stray, another cat-centric game that launched on Steam, but not Switch.

Nintendo gamers have their own gaming niche, but there’s something very cozy about being able to curl up with a hot drink and your portable console, even after all these years. When game releases surpass the Switch release charts, it can be discouraging.

Some cozy games in recent years have only been released on PC, such as Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, Chill Town, and I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival. That’s not to say that Switch users will miss out on cozy games, but we definitely missed out on Stray, which is still popular almost two years after its release.

Fortunately, Little Kitty, Big City will be available on Nintendo Switch and Steam when it launches on May 9.

Will Little Kitty, Big City be on Game Pass?

This game is gearing up to be one of the most popular indie game releases this year. It will be available on Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S players on May 9, making it a day one release. No one will miss this game… Except PlayStation players. I’m sorry!

What is Little Kitty, Big City?

Little Kitty, Big City is another amazing and cozy game that allows the player to control a cute black cat who is lost in an unnamed Japanese city. Developed by Double Dagger Studio as their first game, Little Kitty, Big City was shown to the public at the Wholesome Games event during their Wholesome Snack showcase. It received positive press after the event and has been a game that many indie gamers have been waiting for for almost two and a half years.

The goal of Little Kitty, Big City is to help this elegant feline return home. On your journey, you’ll be able to enjoy many of the things you imagine cats do when they’re roaming around, like jumping on boxes, sneaking around with food, and chasing their tails.

It’s just a silly cat game. It has gremlin energy, which is perfect for more cozy gamers and those looking for something light-hearted to play.

The style reminds many people of the Untitled Goose Game, which is a fair comparison. There’s nothing scary or dystopian about this game, it’s just a light-hearted game about a cat trying to get home.

How much will Little Kitty, Big City cost?

The price for Little Kitty, Big City is still locked on Steam, but the Nintendo e-Shop currently has it on pre-order sale for $22.49. The Little Kitty, Big City sale will end on May 17 and the price will go up to its normal retail cost. $24.99 on the switch.

Game Pass players will benefit from the game being included in their monthly subscription. However, if you don’t have a subscription yet, it costs $9.99 a month for PC or Xbox, or you can pay $16.99 to have Game Pass games on both systems.
