How to Fix Roblox Settings Issue on Windows PC
Here are some of the possible solutions to avoid the ‘Roblox not installing on PC’ issue:
Run Roblox Setup as Administrator
It may be necessary to run configurations as administrator for certain programs so that they can write to certain folders or files that standard users cannot access. When you run an app as an administrator, you give it special permissions to perform the installation process.
Here are the steps to run Roblox setup as administrator:
- Close the Roblox client if it is currently open to ensure it doesn’t interfere with the changes you are about to make.
- Search for “Roblox” in the start menu search.
- Right-click on the highlighted RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file and select Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Check the box next to “Run this program as administrator.”
- Click Apply and then OK.

Disable antivirus software
Sometimes, antivirus software can flag a setup program as malware or a virus, preventing it from running or installing. If you are also using any antivirus software like Avast or AVG, I recommend disabling it before launching the Roblox installation file. Alternatively, you can add the installer to the whitelist or exclusion list of your antivirus software to prevent it from being flagged as malware.
Update your Windows
Keeping Windows up to date can improve your computer’s performance by fixing errors and resolving compatibility issues. To check for Windows updates, go to Start menu >> settings icon >> Update & security >> Check for updates.
Alternatively, you can also access Windows Update settings by searching for “Windows Update” in the Start menu search bar or by going to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update.
