If causing frequent viral posts on social media weren’t enough, Hogwarts Legacy seems to present a story filled with chaos and danger. The game has been embroiled in controversy due to the Political Views from the author of the source material. Some online have expressed a desire to boycott the game because of her. Despite this, pre-orders for Hogwarts Legacy have already placed it as a best seller on the Steam charts weeks before its release. Avalanche Software seems to be largely ignoring the talk and has continued to promote the game on its social media channels every day.
Hogwarts Legacy School Problems
A new cinematic trailer was released this morning in 4k, showing an owl as it flies to supposedly deliver the player character’s letter of admission to Hogwarts. Faces familiar to fans of the Harry Potter series, such as Nearly Headless Nick, can be seen along the way.
Before reaching its destination, the tawny bird encounters trouble. The Hogwarts deputy headmistress, Professor Weasley, tries to calm her students by saying, “We don’t know what magic caused this.” The owl then finds itself dodging giant spiders, dragon flames, and the Avada Kedavra curse before finally catching up with you.

There may be some weight to the arguments that it strays too far into morally questionable territory. After all, the game will presumably allow you to use the most heinous of Unforgivable Curses just like you would a disarming spell. However, we hope that Hogwarts Legacy tells a rich and satisfyingly ambiguous story that fans of the series, now mostly adults, can enjoy.
