How to Unlock Our Purpose is in Another Channel World Mission in Genshin Impact
Head to the area circled in the image above, west of the New Fontaine Research Institute. A blue exclamation point will appear as you approach the area, making it difficult to miss. Talk to the NPC named Aigouy to accept the world quest. Alternatively, you can head straight to Hilichurl’s camp to save Balent, which will also trigger the start of the quest.
How to fix the underwater pipes near Meropide Fortress (4/4) in Genshin Impact
After talking to Aigouy and Balent, they will eventually ask you to go diving to help Balent do his job. There are four broken pipes underwater, which you must fix in any order.
Underwater Pipeline #1
Start by heading to the southernmost pipeline, where the arrow in the image above is pointing. You’ll find two steering wheels, which must be turned to eliminate the leak. Follow the steps below:
- Turn the top handwheel once or until the blue line faces down.
- Turn the lower steering wheel twice or until the blue line faces left.

Submarine pipeline #2
Next, head to the eastern underwater pipeline, where the arrow in the image above is pointing. Once you arrive in the area, absorb the ability of the nearby xenochromic jellyfish.
Hold down the Elemental Ability button, aiming for the area between the two Meanies (the red, flower-like bulbs), then release. A blue bomb will appear in the target area, as shown above. Then, tap the Elemental Skill button to detonate the bomb, destroying the Meanies and unlocking the mechanism.
After unlocking the mechanism, you will be able to turn the pipe handwheels. Follow the steps below:
- Turn the top handwheel once or until the blue line faces down.
- Turn the lower handwheel three times or until the blue line faces up.
If you followed the steps above, Paimon will inform you that the job is done.

Underwater pipeline #3
Head to the western underwater pipe, where the arrow in the image above is pointing. The requirement here is simple: turn the steering wheel once or until the blue line faces up. Paimon will inform you that the job is done.
Submarine pipeline #4
Next, head to the northernmost underwater pipe, where the arrow on the map above points. When you see the pipe, swim down to find one of the flyers trapped inside Fontemer Seagrass. Cut the seagrass, then pick up the steering wheel when interacting with it.
Once you’ve gotten the steering wheel, swim up to reach the pipe, then interact with the bright spot to install the steering wheel. Once installed, turn the steering wheel twice or until the blue line faces left. Paimon will let you know that the job is done. After fixing the four underwater pipes, he returns to the surface and talks to Balent to complete the world quest.
