HoYoverse works hard, but its fans work even harder, especially when it comes to finding out every last bit of information they can get about Genshin Impact characters. I’ve created a list of new characters rumored to be appearing, many of which will likely be available in upcoming version updates.
Please note that most of these details are based on speculation, lore, and leaks; Take them with a grain of salt and know that they do not reflect what will actually appear in the game.
All upcoming characters in Genshin Impact: v4.2 and later
furina
- Region: fountain
- Vision: Hydro
- Weapon: Sword
Furina, the Hydro Archon, is an upcoming user of the five-star Hydro sword releasing in patch 4.2. It is rumored to offer a loaded kit that leans towards it as a sub-DPS unit. Like other Archons, expectations are high for her performance and beta testers have reportedly been happy with her performance so far.
charlotte
- Region: fountain
- Vision: crio
- Weapon: Catalyst
Charlotte is a journalist for The Steambird, a Fontaine-based publication. She first appeared during the TCG Genius Invokation Grand Prix and also met the Traveler during Fontaine’s Archon Quest. She has been confirmed to be a four-star cryogenic catalyst user in version 4.2. Leakers reported that her kit may be aligned with a healer that increases attack.

Navia is the president of the Spina di Rosula, an organization based deep in Poisson. She appeared in Fontaine Archon Quest as an NPC, but leakers reported that she could appear as a playable character in version 4.3. She was seen wielding a Claymore in a battle segment and was carrying a Geo Vision. According to leaks, her gameplay could involve absorbing Crystallized Shards and using them to fire from a cannon, an interesting mechanic that could possibly bring the outdated Geo Reaction back to relevance.
Clorinda
- Region: fountain
- Vision: Electro
- Weapon: Sword
In early 2023, an image of a character wearing a captain’s cap and holding an apple was leaked, with claims that it would be a Fontaine character. Opinions quickly changed, placing his affiliation with Monstadt. She was hailed as “Captain R” and there was speculation that she was a member of the Hexenzirkel. However, these speculations were once again thrown down the drain when she was introduced as a character called Clorinde en Fontaine, and with a completely different design.
Clorinde plays an important role in Fontaine, so she will probably become a playable character later. She has been seen wielding a sword and Electro Vision.

Sigewinne

- Vision: Hydro
- Weapon: Bow
Sigewinne is a little Melusine who first appeared in the trailer for Fontaine’s overture. She has not yet appeared in the game, but her closeness to Wriothesley suggests that she could appear in the Version 4.1 story. She is rumored to be a four-star Hydro bow unit, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Harlequin

- Vision: pyro
- Weapon: Polearm
Arlecchino is a Fatui Harbinger who is rumored to become a playable character in one of Fontaine’s upcoming updates. As he has not yet physically appeared in the game’s story, nothing has been confirmed about his equipment, but leakers allege that he may be a Pyro polearm user.

chiori
- Region: Inazuma/Fontaine
- Vision: Geo
- Weapon: A stranger
Chiori is rumored to be an upcoming playable character, with speculation that she could appear as early as Version 4.5. However, leakers also claim that she could appear as a non-playable character in the Version 4.3 event. Currently nothing is known about her kit, other than the possibility of her being a five-star Geo unit.
While Chiori has not appeared in the game, she has been mentioned in Kirara’s character story. She is a fashion designer from Inazuman, who owns the Chioriya Boutique located in Fontaine and was responsible for designing Kirara, Lyney and Lynette’s outfits.
iansan
- Region: Natlan
- Vision: A stranger
- Weapon: A stranger
Like Cyno and the twins Lyney and Lynette, Iansan was also included in the “Teyvat: Travail Chapter Story Preview” trailer. However, since Natlan’s unlock is still some way off, we likely won’t see Iansan in Genshin Impact for quite some time.
Dainsleif
- Region: Khaenri’ah
- Vision: A stranger
- Weapon: A stranger
HoYoverse confirmed Dainsleif as an upcoming playable character in September 2020, but we won’t have access to the Traveler’s twin’s traveling companion in the near future. Khaenri’ah, the region where Dainsleif comes from, has essentially been destroyed and will likely not be available until all other regions of Teyvat have been unlocked.
