The year 10 is officially able to keep windows 7 and Windows 8.1 unused. There may still be 100 million Windows 7 users.
The new single station for Windows 7 and 8.1 is approaching almost immediately. Windows 8.1 won’t receive updates for the security of Windows 8 since 2016. Regular updates to the operating system started as early as 2018. Windows 8.1 was released at the end of 2013 and has been updated for a total of ten years.
Windows 7 was widely used for long-term use.
The end of Windows 7 comes after a lot longer track. This operating system was developed by the year 2009-2010; support for the original release ended in 2013. For the service pack premier release, update’s end soon after 2020, more than one decade after the original release. After that, Extended Security Updates will be released for another three years, until January 10th, 2020. Those were only applicable to companies with professional versions of Windows 7.
Several programs will stop updating Windows 7 and 8.1 around this time, too. For example, Microsoft Edge 110 doesn’t come to the outdated systems anymore. It doesn’t matter if Edge is based on Chromium or Google Chrome.
Windows 7 has age and the fact that the operating system for individuals hasn’t been updated since 2020, so it has become highly popular. A study commissioned from 2021 found that the system still was in use on ten million computers, or even more. As for the non-configured, Windows drivers are advised to upgrade to Windows 11, or at least to Windows 10 as well. It’s a very likely option to install Windows 10 as it’s already known. While 8 p.m. of the devices are still uncompliant, 43 percent of those devices are still not compatible with 11.
