While FFXIV’s Dawntrail expansion won’t set sail until late June (if you’ve pre-ordered), players have been kept very busy in-game with event content. In fact, another event is about to occur 15 th of May It is none other than the annual Make It Rain Campaignand this year comes with one of the best surprises so far.
Those who head to the Gold Saucer and complete the final questline of the Make It Rain campaign will be rewarded with the long-awaited Glamorous Kappa suit set. Thanks to the wonders of data mining, much of the community knew this was going to happen, but didn’t know when exactly.
Although technically called the ‘Imp Suit’, most players know it as Kappa thanks to both Final Fantasy history and traditional Japanese folklore. Now it’s ready to join the ranks of other eccentric outfits in the game, like the pig suit and toad suit and, of course, the unforgettable Namazu mask. We hope to see Kappas flooding the streets of Limsa and all other popular cities very soon.
Turns out it wasn’t just the players who asked for the Kappa suit to become a reality. The father of Final Fantasy himself, Hironobu Sakaguchi, made a surprise appearance on stage at Tokyo FanFest earlier this year dressed head to toe in a hilariously accurate Kappa suit. Dressed very convincingly, he implored FFXIV director Yoshi-P to hurry up and bring glamor to the game. Fortunately he won’t have to wait much longer.
This year’s Make It Rain campaign runs for approximately two weeks until May 31So don’t wait too long to stop by Gold Saucer for extra wins and special rewards including one of the most absurdly adorable glamor outfits in the game (seen above).
What is the Make It Rain campaign event in FFXIV?
The Make It Rain campaign is an annual event in Final Fantasy XIV that takes place in Gold Saucer, and increases all MGP rewards earned there by 50% for the duration of the event. It’s a fantastic opportunity to boost your character’s MGP wallet, especially right before Dawntrail debuts.
Remember that Free businesses can also take advantage by activating their own daily MGP boosts to accumulate.
While the Make It Rain campaign traditionally runs during the summer season, it will appear a little earlier this year, likely due to the release of Dawntrail in late June and the Dragon Quest collaboration event also arriving next month.
