Fatui Harbingers I’m Most Excited To Meet In Genshin Impact

While HoYoverse can spend too many scenes filled with nothing more than dialogue to tell, Genshin Impact’s narrative and its cast of characters, in particular, are well-crafted. Their individual stories and the story they weave together are some of the most fun aspects of the game. Two years later, we’re now over 60 playable characters, with other non-playable characters, like Timmie and Zhiqiong, adding significant flavor in the background.

The Fatui Harbingers, who on the surface appear to be the villains of the story, continue to be some of the most complex and fun characters. Unfortunately, out of eleven members, only four have appeared in the game. It is rumored that most of them will eventually be playable. While I’m eager to learn more about all of them, there are some that pique our interest more than others. Here are the Fatui Harbingers I’m most excited to meet in Genshin Impact.

The most exciting Heralds of Fatui to appear in Genshin Impact, Ranked.

For the purposes of this list, I’m not going to include the four Fatui Harbingers we’ve already been introduced to in the game: Childe, Signora, Scaramouche, and Dottore. I also assume that Pierro the Jester counts as a Herald of Fatui. This recent leak claims that it is not.

    7) Harlequin

This is definitely our personal bias, but a character heavily involved in plots to intentionally orphan children is completely unredeemable to us. We are a bit intrigued by Arlecchino’s reference in Lazzo of a winter night trailer of dying in “foreign lands” and what that means for his character. However, she was quickly followed by a reference to “making children cry”, all but confirming that her character is directly related to the Snezhnayan orphanages. Our interest quickly plummeted. Genshin Impact may try to make their Fatui Harbingers tradeable, but Arlecchino and Dottore will almost certainly remain on our list of characters I won’t touch with a ten foot pole. There are just some behaviors that we cannot forgive.

    6) pants

While he was directly referenced in the Yelan story quest, Pantalone has yet to appear in the game and remains Snezhnaya’s elusive financier. His reasoning for hating the gods seems to be tied to his obsession with “fair trades” and the lack of much trade between mortals and Celestia. Either that, or he’s upset that the only method Celestia uses to interact with mortals, granting a Sight, seems to have been denied her. Unfair, in fact. If his core character is really “fair”, I guess that’s a good reason to hate the gods. It’s just not the most convincing, in our opinion.

    5) Pulcinella

Aside from her political aptitude, not much stands out over Pulcinella. However, that may be what makes this character so insidious. Perhaps he is such a cunning and talented mayor that it has actually given him the power to reach rank five within the Heralds of Fatui. He would not display that power because no corrupt politician worthy of his cunning would. I’m curious as to the extent of Pulcinella’s power, given his high rank. But his trick of being a cunning statesman, someone who maintains control of the people by any means necessary, also leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Sandrone, or Marionette, is a big question mark. We know she’s involved in Snezhnayan’s automata experiments, à la Katheryne. We know, thanks to Scaramouche and Childe’s voice lines, that she works on her automata, like the one shown holding her, in a maniacal manner. Other than that, she only had one line spoken in the Interlude teaser, which only consisted of two words: “Totally laughable.” Her lack of common language and her striking resemblance to Katheryne almost make us wonder if the girl in the photo is really Sandrone. It could be that “she” is the Ruin Guard holding a humanoid puppet. A Fatui Harbinger who is actually a Ruin Guard, obsessively trying to figure out what it means to create life or even live, almost like a steampunk version of Frankenstein, sounds interesting.

    3) Columbian

Nothing about Columbina says “evil” or even “deadly.” However, she is ranked third among Fatui’s Heralds, suggesting not only that she is immensely powerful, but that she may not even be human. Columbina seems to have a nice demeanor, but she feels safe enough to challenge and annoy Dottore, a known psychopath, at the end of the Interlude trailer. She’s a big, contradictory enigma that feels tricky in a way that Pulcinella can’t, and her story is something we hope to unpack in the future.

    2) Captain

Revealed to be immensely strong and powerful by both Childe and Scaramouche’s voice lines, Capitano also seems to have another unique trait. He apparently he is an honorable villain. Capitano was not only found by Varka at some point during the Mondstadt expedition in the north, but it was suggested that he was there to help the expedition team out of a difficult situation. Or at least, they were both stuck in a precarious spot, and Capitano decided to cooperate. Mondstadt and Snezhnaya have very tense political ties, but it is suggested that the help was provided voluntarily and without cheating. If anyone from the Fatui Harbingers can become “tradeable”, it is likely that he will be this guy.

    1) Peter

The man who started it all. Not only is he notable for being the head of the Fatui Harbingers, but Pierro is confirmed to have been deeply involved in the events of the cataclysm 500 years ago in Khaenri’ah. You probably won’t get to meet this character for several years, but you can bet it will come with plenty of revelations about what really happened during that time, how the Traveler’s brother was involved, and what Pierro knows about “the truth of this”. world.”
