Mike Ybarra’s predictions are positive for 2022 and looks for the future.
Mike Ybarra has, to be updated later this year, a picture of the future of Blizzard Entertainment and an outlook on the future.
By comparing numbers, Ybarra writes, This year, around 12 billion hours of Blizzard games were played and 50 million new players joined the Blizzard community. It wouldn’t be possible without the passion of Blizzard employees. We heard they thought that sea change was going on. These people who work here is who are directing this ship toward something bigger than they’ve ever been and were just beginning.
The results are shown in games, Azeroth in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and seasonal updates in Overwatch 2, Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Diablo II: Resurrected, Hearthstone and Diablo Immortal. Warcraft Arclight Rumble, and finally the Diablo IV team can announce the release date on June 6th, 2023.

Holly Longdale, executive producer of World of Warcraft: Having directed WoW Classic, now oversees all of World of Warcraft and brings her extensive MMO experience to the forefront. Jared Neuss, executive producer for Overwatch 2.: Take a holistic approach to creating a superb live service experience for this fantastic universe. Peiwen Yao, executive producer of Diablo Immortal: Leading the joint development partnership for our first mobile-first title. Mike Elliott, Chief Technology Officer: An illustrable Blizzard veteran, and the leader of engineers overseeing technical assessments, recommendations and execution. Dan Hay, General Manager of Survival Game: He leads the team in fusing this genre with Blizzard magic as we develop our first new IP since Overwatch. The team has doubled the size of this year. We want to grow even more in the new year.
