Wuthering Waves, released on May 22, 2024, has several items with the same functions as their Star Rail counterparts. Once you understand what the new names of those items are, starting Wuthering Waves should be easy!

All Honkai Star Rail players are familiar with the star train pass and the Star Rail Special Pass. These items are used to extract characters and rare items from Honkai Star Rail Banners. In Wuthering Waves, there are no Star Rail Passes, but they do have items that do the exact same thing.
To extract characters and special items from Wuthering Waves posters, you will need three different items: bright tide, radiant tideand forging tide. Lustrous Tide acts as the more common Star Rail Pass, while Radiant Tide is similar to a Star Rail Special Pass.
What’s new here is the introduction of an exclusive item for the weapon banner. You need Forging Tide to take out weapon posters in Wuthering Waves.
What are the names of the main characters in Wuthering Waves?
You are no longer a Trailblazer, you are a Homeless. As is typical in gacha RPGs, you can choose between a female or male Rover at the start of the game, and you will then be taken to the world of Wuthering Waves to find astrite rather star power.
Honkai Star Rail players will likely pick up the terminology very quickly because Wuthering Waves shares similar themes and names. For example, credit on Star Rail becomes Shell Credit in Wuthering Waves, and the skill is Resonance skill.
