In a talk with Collider, the witcher showrunner, Lauren Hissrich, said that the possibility of splitting Season 3 into two parts would be a question. An increase in visual effects problems plagues the film industry, thereby making much of the project a priority. In the next section of The Witcher, if we are to prepare, then the three season is going to need at least seven months in advance of postproduction.

We haven’t yet discussed this. So, at the moment this practice is used on many streaming services. So is not allowed to rule it out. I think it’s obvious to everybody that we don’t release anything we can’t be proud of, so that depends on our final launch date. Again, it’s still a long time until the release of The Witcher Season three in the year three or three months. For this purpose, the public will get everything through God’s help. But who knows, see what’s going on.

This isn’t the first time Netflix has decided to split a season for practical reasons. The show’s four-part series of Guillermo del Toros, which carries the shortest story, was written in pairs and then the four brothers decided to split 2 separate parts of Stranger Things with the visual effects team to complete the final show.

The Witcher writer is releasing several spin-offs to fill the nearly two-year hiatus between seasons of the main series. The two spin-offs have been released so far. The first of them, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, a short film that follows Vesemir’s backstory, was released in 2021 and it was widely received by critics and the public alike. The release of the second prequel, The Witcher: Origins, which explains the Golden Age of elven civilization, was absolutely a failed success.
