Unfortunately, Dr. Druckmann believes the new series the Last of Us has similar problems to Game of Thrones. The show would be so faithful to the games for that.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the co-president of Naughty Dogs, Neil Druckmann opened his eyes on the upcoming The Last of Us series. Druckmann, who directed several episodes, was confident that it won’t make the same mistakes as Game of Thrones.
The Last of Us aired January 15 on HBO in the US. In Germany, the show will be shown on Sky and WOW. The first episode of the series is scheduled to take about two to eight minutes.
Series mustn’t take away the source material.
The fantasy series Game of Thrones, which aired on HBO like The Last of Us, was celebrated for its portrayal of George RR Martin. The show has only been in the past year, but has not kept going beyond the source material. The first major changes to the series followed the rapid growth in the series of Martins-finished books.
According to Neil Druckmann, Last of us shouldn’t make the same mistake as Game of Thrones. We don’t have any plans to tell stories beyond the adaptation of the games, said Druckmann in the interview. The problem isn’t the same as Game of Thrones, because Part II doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.
Pressmann discussed how faithful the series will be to the last of us games. He called the show the best, authentic game adaptation, adding that sometimes adaptations didn’t work because the source material wasn’t strong enough. Sometimes they didn’t work because the people who made them didn’t understand the source material.
