The final DLC for Pathfinder: Wrath of Righteous invites you to have fun and make out

The trailer for the Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – A Dance of Masks DLC is a little disconcerting because it invites you to relax and get naked with hot guys in ponds and make out by the fireplace and all that, but it also presents a menacing image. Golem with 100 faces and swarms of locusts. I guess that’s the old life for you.

A Mask Dance will allow you to return to the place where the adventure began (a newly rebuilt Kenabres) and celebrate how wonderful you are for saving the world and all that. During your free time, among other things, you can enjoy personal events for each partner where they take off their loafers and relax for once, as well as romantic events with all currently romantic partners.

It would be a little strange (although fun) if developer Owlcat used a full vibe-based sim for this one and just let you socialize and play games and such, but more traditional elements like combat will come into play when the villains show up. Try to limit your style. When that happens, you will leave Kenabres for an enemy stronghold and take care of business.

Build lovers can rejoice too: 11 new character archetypes mean even more character possibilities (in case nine million weren’t enough). And to improve your quality of life, you can change the grip of your weapons from one to two hands. What bonuses and debuffs this will confer remains to be seen, but as with archetypes, it could lead to some new approaches while also making builds more versatile.

A Dance of Masks marks the final chapter in the epic Owlcat saga, so if you want more Pathfinder, you’ll have to wait for another game (or go the modding route). I’m looking forward to kissing by the pond while being attacked by lobsters when Dance arrives on June 13th.
