In 2022, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that its acquisition of Bungie for 3.6 billion dollars, adding the development team and Destiny 2. The ink dried on the deal by 2022, leaving the Destiny IP for Sony to be a major building block, but the only reason for the contract was that this wasn’t true. Bungie developers now hint that they were working on a lot of unannounced titles and have shared a lot of open positions for those projects.

The senior design leader of Bungies, Tom Farnsworth, shared these quick details in his twitter feed. Farnsworth was showing off his Destiny shield after 11 years of work with Bungie. The multitude of unique medals, all under the roof of Destiny 2, reflect an array of expansions and seasons.

And with the help of Sony, we’re also working on several unannounced projects. Come join us!Also, apparently, im missing a medal, and some kids played with that shield while back, lol.

As far as they know, Farnsworth did not share any detailed or specific information about these projects except those being worked on. That morning after Farnsworth briefly talked about the unannounced projects, he posted several careers on Bungie, with respect to these games, and encouraged anyone to apply to them. Farnsworth shared positions for environmental artists, technical artists, technical animators, gaming animators, gaming engineers and many others.

The positions of Farnsworth suggest these projects are in very early stages. We may get hints and clues about their existence over the next few years, but it will take time to find these positions for Bungie and to get started on these roles.

It’s unlikely one of the titles Farnsworth believes is the supposed remake of an original a first-person shooter, which the Bungie project created in 1994. The remake would be a bit more PvP-centric and be done in partnership with NetEase, an arrangement made before the Sony deal in 2022. However, there’s nothing more concrete than work, says the truth.

A lot of people have arrived at the moment in preparation for the Sony project, and the decision that Bungie can do is likely to hear much more about them a little more, so I’m ready for a demo of what I will show the game. While we might hear much more about the potential Marathon remake, we will have Destiny 2 vying to expand its Lightfall expansion.
