Another Crab Treasure is similar to a Soul with several different ways to upgrade your Krill. You can change its shell, upgrade its weapon, and even get special powers from stowaways you pick up while doing missions in the world.

    Another crab’s treasure stowaway, classified

There are a total of 68 stowaways you can find in Another Crab’s Treasure, and many of them are great depending on how you like to play. However, I found 10 of these little companion friends to be particularly useful during my playthrough.

    10. Used bandage and used bandage +

The damage used makes your healing items more powerful, which is a big advantage in the early game. I like to switch to this before eating Heart Kelp when my health is low, but I don’t leave it on all the time. This can help you overcome poisoning and other DoT effects.

    9. Whelk, Whelk+ and Whelk++

If you’re focused on an Umami/MSG build, Whelk is extremely powerful. Adds additional damage to your shell spells. The Whelk increases it by 15%, the + by 30%, and the ++ by 45%, which can make a big difference in the amount of damage your build does. I ended up not focusing on Umami, but this was one of the best stowaways I found for such a build.

It’s always good to have another Crab in your back pocket if you’re approaching a particularly dangerous area that you just want to run through. Another Crab dies in your place, giving you a second chance to live while equipped.

    7. Sponge and Sponge+

Sponges are amazing for Umami builds; Every time you attack, you regain Umami. The sponge provides 33% regeneration and the sponge+ gives you 67% regeneration for each attack. If you hope to harness your Umami powers again and again, the sponge is a must

    6. Lantern fish

I actually missed this shiny little friend on my first pass through Unfathom, which made it very difficult to get through, and I think that’s what made me put the Lanternfish on this list. The second time through Unfathom was much easier when I could see what was happening around me. This fish friend also fights at your side and helps you deal damage to your enemies.

    5. sea cucumber

The Sea Cucumber is just an all-around good piece of equipment when you don’t know what’s coming next. It gives you a boost to all your stats and is an awesome add-on if you have a stowaway slot and don’t know what to put in it.

Balance in Another Crab’s Treasure is the equivalent of poise or stance in other Souls-type games. Breaking a creature’s balance will stun it. So if you use the hammer in conjunction with strong attacks, you can hit even the largest enemy so that they are off balance and stunned much more often with the Sinker. It’s mainly for an attack-focused build, which was my favorite during my time under the sea.

    3. Rubber band

The rubber band came in handy whenever I found something with the ability to electrocute my Krill. While I didn’t use it throughout the entire game, I did tend to use it when electricity was going to be an issue, and it prevented all sorts of damage and deaths, turning powerful bosses and enemies into easy battles.

    2. Lampray and Lampray +

I tempered my entire constitution around the hammer, and the Lamprey stowaways were incredibly powerful for it. If you have a focused attack build, the extra health loss will have you destroying most enemies in just one or two hits. 7% may not seem like a lot, but it really starts to add up as soon as you build up points in the attack and focus on dealing as much damage as possible with each hit.

    1. Fruit Sticker and Fruit Sticker +

My number one best stowaway overall is fruit stickers. Both increase the amount of microplastics you get in Another Crab’s Treasure, which is the main currency you’ll need for outfits, upgrades, shell insurance, and anything else you want to buy. I had this one for pretty much the entire game, and only replaced the Fruit Sticker with the Fruit Sticker+ when I found it. This is definitely the most useful stowaway in the entire game.
