The Pokémon Trading Card Game is almost as old as the series itself. While these cards often have some standout artwork, there are bound to be some oddities in the mix. There are often Pokemon cards that are tied to spin-off releases, like Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Rumble, leading to some of the funniest artwork.

What are the funniest Pokémon Cards out there?

    11. Zoroark and the Legendary Pokémon

This is an example of a Jumbo Card and fortunately they are not allowed in tournaments. Imagine walking into a tournament and getting hit with a 1,000 power move? Yes, this card is outrageously overpowered, but it’s fun to watch Dialga, Rayquaza, and Groudon hanging out.

    10. Brock’s Onyx

I have to have Onix in a collection of Brock’s cards. However, this depiction of Onix raises a couple of questions: what is he doing? Running through space? Squeeze a watermelon? It is practically impossible to know.

    9. Ditto cards

It was a series of cards that showed Ditto transformed into other Pokémon. Other examples would be Charmander, Squirtle and Mr. Mime with Ditto’s beady eyes. Some of them are nightmare fuel, but this one in the midst of transforming into Pikachu is always a good laugh.

    8.Eevee-GX

Just for context, Eevee only weighs about 14 pounds. So it’s hard to see why this card is designed to be practically overweight. It’s almost like Greedent and Eevee have merged. Judging from Eevee’s mouth, it looks like he’s ready for another trip to Dominoes Pizza, too.

    7.Stunfisk

Has anyone used Attract on this Stunfisk? He looks very much in love. There are many other Pokémon that have lovey-dovey behavior, including Chansey, Luvdisc, and Milotic. However, Stunfisk generally doesn’t fall into that category.

    6. Pokemon Rumble Zapdos

Pokémon Rumble had a set of cards made when the game was released. Some of these Pokemon were fun to see in smaller, cuter forms. However, this Zapdos is so small that the real Zapdos could probably swallow it whole.

    5. Pokemon Snap Gyarados

    Image via The Pokemon Company

This was the result of a contest in 1998 when Pokémon Snap players could enter their best photos taken. While this isn’t the most flattering pose for Gyarados, it’s completely understandable. Getting a picture in the original Gyarados Pokemon Snap is incredibly difficult, but a close-up.

    4. EX Dragon 61 Magnemite

To be fair, drawing a perfect circle is difficult. That said, it’s really hard to figure out what’s going on with this warped Magnemite. What’s even funnier is that the other three Magnemite in the background look perfectly drawn.

    3. Hama-Chan’s Slowdown

Despite the quality of the drawing, this card is incredibly rare. It appeared in an issue of Coro Coro magazine in 1999. If it were a Skribbl game, this drawing can be considered pretty decent. As it stands, however, this card’s bullshit radar falls off the charts.

    2.Sachiko GX

This card was a gift to everyone who attended the Pokémon Trading Card Game 20th Anniversary event. The woman depicted is Sachiko Kobayashi, who sang several songs featured on the Pokémon shows, both with herself and as part of the band Suzukisan. According to this card, she is also a Fairy type.

    1.Imakuni

There’s no need to check the Pokedex for this one, as trainers can’t catch it in-game. This trainer card is actually Tomoaki Imakuni, a musician from part of the music featured in the Pokémon anime. He also helped with the Pokémon Rangers designs, which is probably why they decided to give him a card. What remains a mystery, however, is why he felt the need to wear a Mickey Mouse costume.
