Sonic Mania is a plus. Now finally available for mobile., a release courtesy of the Netflix games service. While we mentioned Sonic Mania Plus in our roundup of the (absolutely stacked) additions to Netflix games this month, we felt it deserved its own post. Especially since it’s now the definitive way to experience classic Sonic on mobile.
Sonic the Hedgehog needs no introduction as Sega’s most famous mascot. And Sonic Mania Plus brings together the adventures from Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic the Hedgehog CD in one place, remixing and enhancing them. Many of these levels were redesigned for the game, which was first released in 2017 to celebrate Sonic’s 25th anniversary, and put the franchise’s classic side-scrolling action back into players’ hands. was

While some may be disappointed that we’re not getting the classic Sonic games on their own, it’s hard to argue that Sonic Mania Plus is one of the surest ways to experience the best of those games. deserves praise because of However, some may be a little annoyed that it’s completely behind Netflix Games, and would be hungry for a standalone, even paid, version.
Still, it’s another reason why, despite the lack of discovery, the Netflix Games subscription remains a surprisingly beautiful part of the overall Netflix package. Here’s hoping that if they do go ahead with the price change, it makes them available to everyone.
