Ubisoft has put a new man in charge of the Far Cry IP, and it is none other than industry veteran Drew Holmes.

As well as having worked on previous Far Cry games, Holmes has also worked on projects including BioShock Infinite, Saints Row, and Red Faction.

Drew Holmes announced on his LinkedIn profile that he had taken on the role of IP Director of FAR CRY at Ubisoft.

He said: “It’s been an exciting few months… I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as IP Director of FAR CRY at Ubisoft! We have big things in store 🙂 Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to be a part of the next evolution of this great brand!

Holmes has been made the IP Director in the midst of Far Cry 7’s development. Not much is known about the next instalment in the franchise, and Ubisoft has not given a release date at this stage.

Holmes has worked on several Far Cry projects before

Holmes is no stranger to the Far Cry franchise and has worked on several games in the series before.

Having worked for Ubisoft for almost eight years, Holmes has been able to work on both Far Cry 5 (2018) and Far Cry: New Dawn (2019) as the lead writer.

If anyone is going to be put in charge of the Far Cry IP, Holmes seems like he will be the right man for the job. With a history of working on well-received games for the franchise he seems to be someone who knows how to make a successful Far Cry game.

Only time will tell and, with Far Cry 7 not expected to be released for another few years at best, there may be a little while to wait before we see Drew Holmes in action in his new role.
