SaGa Series Director Teases Potential Remasters and New Projects, New Projects and Exiles

    According to leaks from an upcoming issue ofFamitsu, Director Akitoshi Kawazu pushed further developments for the franchise prior to its 35th anniversary in 2024.     He has added that since the number of titles left that require a remaster has dropped, the number of cases that have ever been ignored in all of the books is dropping. The shortlist for remasters includes the first-generation, First-Generation, games like SaGa and 2002s Unlimited, etc.

    The first two games of the series CSAG are the Game Boy games of Makai Toushi SaGa, and SAG2: Hihou Densetsu, and SAG3: Jikuu No Hasha. They were released in English as three Final Fantasy Legend games. In 2018, Romancing SaGa 2 technically received a remaster on modern platforms in 2017.Unlimited SaGa hasn’t received any remasters yet, but was last available on the PS2.

    Kawazu, besides remasters, announced that other unannouncedSaGa series projects are in the pipeline. The series will celebrate its 35th anniversary in the summer of 2024, so Kawazu want to make it enjoyable for fans. He said that he wants to talk about something new every month. With nearly two years between now and the actual 35th anniversary, more announcements or solid plans could be needed.

    The first samsung related release is Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered, which came out on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices on December 1, 2022.
