Today, insiders share enough information that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card, designed for PCs and non desktops, has appeared in benchmarks.
Of course, in the past, it’s difficult to talk about the advantages of the video card, because these are leaked tests from anonymous providers, not real data from users and reviewers. But, in any case, insiders said the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 for laptops is 20% weaker than the original desktop graphics card.
It is obviously a bit disappointing, because users who buy gaming laptops want to have fun with it, but in reality they’ll end up with a rather simple model without a great performance boost.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 does not have as impressive performance as the previous generation but will deliver a pretty low lead over DLSS3. If you subtract another 20% from this performance, the simplest video card will cost only a lot of money.
And here, the user will have to decide if he should buy a new laptop, or if it does not boost his performance, or if he wants to look at more affordable models with future versions of video cards.
I expect that, for now, we will wait for real tests for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 for laptops. This is a very interesting announcement for me, there’ll be a lot of interesting tests.
