Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are no strangers to updates, but the communities surrounding these games are at a breaking point. For every new feature, map, or event Activision adds to the game, an equal number of things break.

Warzone community reacts to Season 3 Reloaded update

Season 3 Reloaded was recently released and with it came many new bugs and issues that require the Activision team to fix. From development bug 5433 to a tac-sprint reload bug and more, the community is facing another unfinished and unpolished job.

User Eliherr jumped on Reddit to express their frustrations over their time playing Warzone, highlighting the experiences they’ve witnessed in less than two days of gameplay. Annoyances with it include constant weapon buffs/nerfs, nearby loot preventing reloading, a tactical sprint reload bug, HUD issues, animations, and sound issues. They’re even angry about the sudden removal of Solo/Duo Resurgence on Rebirth Island, replacing the fan-favorite mode with a rotation much to fans’ dismay.

User tawley totally agreed, saying: “I agree that this update is pretty bad. The audio still isn’t fixed, the missing textures, the animation going out of sync, the ridiculous lag that came with season 3 or development errors never really solve anything they just create more and more problems.”

I’ve experienced similar issues in my recent playtime, and despite Activision’s efforts to fix them, it does little to draw me back into the game after constant lag or packet loss.

Meanwhile, user _DoctorSocrates_ jumped into the thread asking for help, saying: “My game crashed multiple times on PS5 (twice on Rebirth and twice on Zombies). Are other PS5 players having similar issues?”

While I haven’t experienced a crash yet, the game’s constant texture and desync issues have made me wish it would crash.

The protest of the Modern Warfare 3 community against the latest update

Modern Warfare 3 players aren’t having it any better either. Reddit user No-Couple6849 found himself expressing his displeasure at the constant problems; Your first few hours of the Season 3 Reloaded update were spent restarting the game after several crashes.

User VirtualJerk*** immediately agreed with the post, saying, “Yeah, the last update screwed me up with the weapon animations and sounds. The weapon inspections and climbing animations cause some serious FPS drops.” Another commenter (user xXmjaneXx) says: “I used to be excited about new updates. Now I’m afraid of them. Seriously, every time the game starts to calm down after they screwed it up with one update, it screws it up with the next.”

It’s a real mistake on the part of the developer to not have these updates up and running at launch. If it were a company with few staff, the vast majority would turn a blind eye to some issues. However, this is Activision, one of the most storied game developers in the world, and yet they constantly struggle to deliver an update without breaking something.
