The DC Universe will receive a notnamed expansion written by James Gunn, filmmaker and co-director of DC Studios. The fact that he does overseeing DC Studios and finishing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is Gunns’s newest venture, along with the long list of DC productions being expanded into the list.

2023 is set to be a big year for James Gunn and DC Studios.

The 56-year-old Gunn decided to keep fans up with a Twitter post where he claims he has written a third of the unannounced show and has already been meeting with the DC Studios executives to develop a strategy.

Since there are no more information on that subject, it is hard to confirm whether Gunn was referring to the second Suicide Squad spinoff he was teasing every second of the last year or anything else. Is it one of the rumored spin-offs he said will work on the second season of HBO’s Maxs Peacemaker? How about the new movie Superman? There are endless possibilities.

My day: was responsible for 1/3 of an unannounced TV show (; okd 100 shots for video, acted in a reference to Rocket; & gave all the editing notes for Vol 3; & held two big DC Studios meetings. pic.twitter.com/tmtuTbz1ff.

After being appointed director of DC Studios last November, and Peter Safran, the pair have been tasked with the direction for the next four years.

Their tenure may be the first year in the studio’s most successful run in terms of adaptations. Unfortunately, we have to wait a while to see what Gunn is cooking up.

The TV slate is on the internet, without a clear creative trajectory in place. The once-robust Arrowverse is now a shell of its ex-self and The Flash is coming out of its final season next month. That would leave only Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights, a Batman-less Batman series that will not appear until now, just as DC can offer two shows only. Even in time for the upcoming season, the show is quite stable, with the Titans and Doom Patrol going through their fourth seasons and Peacemaker being renewed by the end of Season 2 again.

Do Ezra Miller’s recent comments affect his position in the DCU?

Despite that, Gunn has publicly stated that the project he and Safran have envisioned should cost up to 10 years and they will unveil it by the end of the month. He debunked claims that the three years of his decade-long plan won’t feature the iconic DC superhero Wonder Woman. But, when asked if Ezra Miller and the current Flash actor would continue to show the characters moving forward, Gunn replied that he wasn’t familiar with Miller’s plans for the future.
