Monkey Island has been given a new life in the Sea of Thieves update. The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale contains an exciting story, but it had some puzzles that stumped me. One that made me scratch my head and insult myself was how to get the chef uniform. It turns out that there is a rather simple explanation of how to become a cook in Scum Bar.
Where to get the chef uniform in Sea of Thieves – The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale
The Chef’s Uniform is required to complete The Journey to the Isle of Mêlée Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves. It can be found in the General storehouse and it costs 45 pieces of eight to buy it. However, you can’t just buy it once you have the required coins. This is because the Chef’s Uniform is reserved. You must first inquire about a job offer before you can buy it.

Why can’t I buy the chef uniform in Sea of Thieves?
You must first inquire about a job offer before you can buy it. Talk to the First Pirate Lord at the Scum Bar and ask him about the job. He will inform you that the Chef is looking for an assistant. Go to the kitchen and talk to the chef. The chef is waiting for his assistant and will literally accept anyone as long as he is wearing the right uniform.
After talking to these two, head to the general store and talk to the store owner. Go through the dialogue options and you should be able to purchase the chef uniform. This will allow you to help the Chef cook the stew, allowing you to progress. This is needed to open, get the Clock Tower Key and finish the Tall Tale.
