Manor Lords allows players to create and collect an impressive variety of items for their kingdom, including valuable goods like candles. However, it’s not entirely clear how to get them, and if you’re wondering what it takes, here’s our handy guide on how to get candles in Manor Lords.
How to Unlock Candles in Manor Lords
At the time of writing this article, Candles are a basic item that you currently cannot craft in Manor Lords.you can only get them through trading with your trading post(s). As the game is in its first early access phase, the ability to create candles simply hasn’t been added yet.
We anticipate it will be available soon, as the Development skill tree already includes both Beekeeping and Advanced Beekeeping, with the third level locked due to early access development. Meanwhile, if you already have apiaries configured, you can still sell the Honey and Wax they do it through you Market(s) and tradeand import Candles if you want.
How to stock up on honey and wax at Manor Lords
While candle making may not be a thing yet, you can still start building your wax shops if you want. That means you will need to add apiaries to your town/city, which is just a few steps away.
To get started, you will need to update your settlement to at least a small town (build 5 x Tier 1 Burgage Plots), if not more. Each time you do so, you will receive a Development point spend on a single type of infrastructure.
An option that is available immediately is Beekeepingthat unlocks the apiaries in your build menu. These will provide honey to your town/village, but remember do not build more than two of them, since the output has a limit of two. You will also need 2 x boards for each apiaryso make sure your Sawmill has some on hand.

After getting another development point, you will be able to unlock it. Advanced Beekeeping (the next level that will allow your apiaries to also produce Wax). This is the fundamental ingredient for making Candles, and until that becomes an option in the game, you can sell or exchange some of it to help improve their regional wealth and keep the rest in a Store.
Alternatively, you may want to postpone beekeeping altogether until they become fully productive in the game. There are other features in the Development skill tree (e.g. charcoal burning, forest management, sheep farming) that are honestly more valuable to begin with.
