Destiny 2: Ultimate adds new Prismatic subclass, enemy faction, Exotics, and more

    Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Final Shape, and it features gameplay of a Guardian wielding both light and darkness at once, new weapons and enemies, and more. The trailer was part of a wider information blitz surrounding The Final Shape, which promises to end the decades-long battle of Light vs. Dark story arc, where we learned more about The Witness and additional exotics.     Unveiled last August and originally slated to launch in February before being delayed to June 4th, The Final Shape is shaping up to be (pun intended) the biggest expansion for Destiny 2 to date. is one of That’s fitting, considering the story players have been enjoying for 10 years is set to wrap up.

    “Along with the three new Lite Supers previously announced [Twilight Arsenal for Titans, Storm’s Edge for Hunters, and Song of Flame for Warlocks]Guardians will use light and darkness together for the first time to release the Prismatic subclass, a press release reads.

    Bungie says that each class will get a unique grenade that also combines elements of several subclasses: Warlocks will get a Stasis/Void grenade, Titans will get a Strand/Arc grenade, and Hunters will get a Solar/stasis grenade. A grenade will be found.

    For the first time in Destiny 2 history, in Final Shape, players will equip an exotic class item – namely hunter’s robes, titan’s marks, and warlock’s bonds – with exotic level perks. According to Bungie, these perks will be randomized, taking two traits from existing exotic class items (including those belonging to some other classes).

    A new faction of Dredd enemies will terrorize Guardians at the behest of The Witness (pictured above) with never-before-seen abilities. Along with Tormentors and Subordinates, the Witness will release new Grim, Husk, Attendant, and Weaver units:

    • serious: A highly mobile flying enemy that slows and suppresses the Guardian’s abilities if it gets too close.
    • Husk: An acrobatic melee mover that sends a determined enemy towards you until you land a final blow on their weak spot.
    • Attendant and Weaver: By running Stasis and Strand respectively, these units can quickly change the flow of the encounter and force Guardians to focus on their position on the battlefield.

    These animes, exotics, the new Prismatic subclass, and more will be available with the launch of The Final Shape on June 4th. In the meantime, you can check out the game’s latest update – Into the Light – starting today.

    This new two-month update includes a new wave of defensive attack activity, a variety of standard and limited edition fan-favorite weapons, a new Hall of Champions social space, Zero Hour and The Whisper alien missions, a The raid boss is called the Gauntlet. Pantheon, new rewards, and more.
