Love will be in the air in February during the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid. The raid boss will be a Fairy-type Tandemaus, which makes a pretty nice pet for Valentine’s Day. The Raid will be active from February 13 to 15. While Tandemaus is a great cutie, his stats aren’t too great. Trainers will find it easy to beat this raid.
What are the best Pokemon to use against Tera Fairy Tandemaus in Scarlet and Violet?
The bottom line is that Pokemon’s Steel-types Scarlet and Violet are the ones trainers should be using against Tera Fairy Tandemaus. This isn’t just due to Steel-types countering fairies, it’s actually more due to Tandemaus’ signature move, Population Bomb.
This move can hit up to 10 times, which will definitely be enough to KO enemies easily. Since this attack is so devastating, it’s best to use a Pokemon that resists Normal. Steel-types like Bronzong, Revavroom, Iron Treads, and Orthworm don’t have to worry about taking too much damage from Tandeamaus and can retaliate with super effective damage.

There’s another Pokemon that has a great matchup against Tera Fairy Tandemaus: Gengar. Since it is a Ghost-type, it is fully immune to Population Bomb, as well as Tandemaus’s other Normal-type attacks (Double Strike, Super Fang, Hyper Voice).
For trainers that have a Gengar, the best thing to do is give it Choice Specs, as Gengar will pretty much just want to click Sludge Wave during battle. Steel-types could also use a stat-boosting move to help them beat Tandemaus faster (eg Bulk Up on Corviknight, Curse on Orthworm, etc.).
