The Game Awards 2023 was a big night for games, with more than 30 announcements, premieres and more. It culminated with developer Lauren Studios taking home the Game of the Year award for its critically acclaimed RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3. Shortly after the win, Lauren revealed that the game is now available on Xbox Series X/S, meaning it’s finally playable on PlayStation. 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Baldur’s Gate 3 director Sven Winke Tweeted, “I had one job and that was to announce if we won an award – sorry but glad it’s out there,” possibly meaning he was aiming for the stage. An announcement had to be made. Regardless, everyone is happy Vincke and team took the extra time to praise their team of developers and instead thank fans for their welcome during the Game of the Year Award acceptance speech.
