Flying-type Pokémon are very useful for providing offensive options, but they can also work defensively. They can be switched into moves that target other Pokemon and usually have good support options with lots of status moves. When fighting Flying-type Pokémon, it’s important to know their strengths and weaknesses to avoid using moves that don’t deal a lot of damage. These are all the strengths and weaknesses of the Flying-type Pokémon.
What is flying weak to in Pokémon?
Flying-type Pokémon tend to be physical attackers and deal large amounts of damage with Stunts and Brave Bird. There are also special flying moves, like Hurricane, that give flying Pokémon a lot of synergy with Rain. Flying has three weaknesses and they are:
- Rock – 2x
- Ice – 2x
- Electric – 2x

Flying-type Pokémon are immune to Land Writes it moves and will not take damage from them. Even the best Ground-Type Pokemon won’t be able to Earthquake a Flying-Type Pokemon.
What is Flying strong against in Pokémon?
Flying is strong against three Types in the game offensively and will deal super effective damage to:
- Grass – 2x
- Bug – 2x
- Struggle – 2x
You will also take less damage when hit by these same guys.

What are the best counters for Flying Types in Pokémon?
The best Pokémon to counter Flying-types are Rock either Electric Write pokemon. While Ice-types can deal super effective damage to Flying Pokemon, they don’t resist the Flying moves used against them. Flying Pokémon also tend to learn fighting moves to cover their weaknesses. Flying moves will deal damage reduced to:
- Electric – 1/2
- Rock – 1/2
- Steel – 1/2
