In Baldur’s Gate 3, you will want the best possible weapons for all the companions you keep in your party; weapons can make or break a build, and finding (or making) the right dagger, sword, or other weapon type is a necessity. One of the better weapons players can make is with Sussur Bark, but if you’re like me, you had some trouble locating the bark, and didn’t know what to do with the bark afterward.
Sussur Tree Bark Location in BG3
Sussur Trees only grow in one location in BG3: the Underdark. Tav and the gang can reach it by looking for an entrance in the cursed lands that hold Moonrise Towers. Along the way (to Grymforge), you’ll find a massive Sussur Tree that’s hard to miss. However, the bark is a little harder to spot; there is only one place you can pull off some.
Look for the diamond-shaped quest marker along the climbable roots of the tree; there will be a interactable bit of the bark there. Here is the map location for this spot:
How to Make the Sussur Bark Weapon
With the Sussur Bark in hand, you’re ready to make a great weapon for yourself or your favorite Baldur’s Gate 3 companion. Head back to the Blighted Village where a blacksmith’s forge is waiting for you. This is located at the start of the Blighted Village, behind the wooden doors in the image below.
Head through the doors and look for the forge. Interact with the forge’s melting furnace to ignite it, then click on the melting furnace again, and put the Sussur Bark into the combination screen.
The flames will turn blue. Next, add one of the three following: a basic dagger, a basic sickle, or a basic greatsword. Interact with the melting furnace, then put the weapon into the combination screen.
A cutscene will play, and then you will have your Sussur Bark weapon ready for equipping.
