We’re bringing back a taste of OG Fortnite in the new BR Fortnite Reload modes, but what does that entail? Here’s a look at all the OG locations and weapons included in Reload and also the cool new features involved.

Everything you can expect in Fortnite Reload

Fortnite Reload is its own brand new game mode, which means we won’t be saying goodbye to it Chapter 5 POI or weapons. Instead, we will be able to experience all the advantages of OG separately. If you’re a Fortnite veteran, you’ll recognize many of these weapons and locations, but along with them, we’ll also be able to try out a new way to play with unlimited restarts.

Let’s dive into everything we can expect in Fortnite Reload.

All OG locations in Fortnite Reload

The Fortnite Reload map is much smaller than the average map, but it’s packed with nostalgic locations from seasons past. We saw some of these places in the trailer, but iFireMonkey on Twitter gave us a better overview of the entire map (and we added the place names on top).

All the confirmed locations that we can reach are mini versions of the originals so that they fit on the smaller map. There are also a few that weren’t revealed in the trailer that also seem to be included in some variations:

    • Confirmed locations:
      • leaning towers
      • sand sheets
      • nice park
      • Small Booty Lake
      • lazy turns
    • Potential locations:
      • Wailing Forest
      • Retail row
      • dusty warehouse
      • Snobby coasts
      • Download factory

All OG weapons in Fortnite Reload

It wouldn’t be right to visit these original locations without the proper equipment to go with them. That’s why we’ll also be bringing back some of our original loot, with old-school Fortnite weapons like the standard AR or the tactical SMG and shotguns.

You won’t be disappointed in the slightest with this boot. These are all the weapons (and some other non-weapon items) that will appear confirmed in reload modes:

    • weapons:
      • heavy assault rifle
      • heavy shotgun
      • Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
      • tactical submachine gun
      • tactical shotgun
      • Stir
      • Rocket launcher
      • infantry rifle
      • lever shotgun
    • another loot:

Other OG items are sure to be included as well, like Chug Splashes, Slurp Juice, and more. We will have to jump and start looting chests to discover them all.

All new features in Fortnite Reload

One of the biggest parts of Fortnite Reload that sets it apart from the OG seasons is a new unlimited reset mechanic. Something they made sure to reveal at the beginning of the trailer is that you can restart as many times as you need to get back into the action.

How this will work is that each player gets a reset cooldown when they are eliminated. They will drop off mini shields, ammo, and building materials in addition to their full inventory and wait for the countdown. The cooldown can be extended to a maximum of 40 seconds, but averages around 30 seconds. However, if their squadmates get some kills while the player is knocked out, the cooldown will be reduced by two seconds for knocking down an opponent and by four seconds for knocking one out. It will be reduced even more significantly if your squad manages to take out an entire enemy team, in a full ten seconds.

When the player reboots, they will be launched into the sky, like a reboot van, but in the general area of their death location. They will respawn with an AR and 100 wood (if you are playing in construction mode; if not, you will not receive materials, only a weapon). They can restart like this as many times as they need, as long as there is one member of their squad still standing and until they reach the final scenario. After the end of the game, when it reaches a specific number of players remaining, players will no longer be able to restart. The game will play out as normal with the teams fighting until only one remains.

Is it just Fortnite Reload Squads?

The only way to get unlimited restarts is if you have squadmates still alive. That leaves the question, what if you don’t have a team? Well, you will have to have a computer to play Reload. Yes, Fortnite Reload is a squad only game mode. You will only be able to queue as a full team. You can play with less than four players on your team, but you’ll potentially be up against other entire teams and risk being outmatched quite easily.

This is everything we know about Fortnite Reload so far. When we combine all these elements, locations and features, we will get a good mix of old and new. What are you most looking forward to?
